What Our Guests Have To Say

"The Sea Rose is beautiful! We stayed for a few days when my husband's mother came to visit from Canada and it was great! So quiet and peaceful and great for the kids. We flew kites on the beach and built sand castles even though it was February. I have recommended it to all of my friends."

"the sea rose is secluded, has a wonderful yard and is within easy driving distance to Eugene. the rates are wonderful and its fun that you can do trades or watch for last minute specials. ...............It is a close drive to Yachats for a lovely meal if you do not want to cook. You can also walk on the beach or shop or drive up the coast for the day and then come back to this wonderful retreat to rest, relax and have a wonderful meal. It is a lovely beach to walk on. Once you get there you can just retreat, no need to drive anywhere for your stay. come alone or with friends or with family."

"My husband and I love the SeaRose! It's the first place we think of when we want to get away (besides backpacking). We keep saying we'll bring the kids sometime, but so far it hasn't happened! We love the high bed looking out to the ocean and feel right at home there. I love that you have all the movies you do, and I imagine a time where I'll just watch as many as I want, journal, walk, watch the fire, rest, look at all the magnificent stars, walk down the beach and hope to see another flock of pelicans . . . So far, movies take a distant second to everything else there, including hiking at Cape Perpetua, which we do most every time we're there. Thanks for sharing!"

"It’s hard to sum up 15 years of pleasure at the Sea Rose! While I was in graduate school, I spent the end of every quarter unwinding at the Sea Rose. When I finished two years of postdoctoral work outside of the state, the first place I returned to was the Sea Rose! My family drives down from Seattle, at least three times a year, to meet me at the SeaRose. Frankly, I have celebrated every major life event at the SeaRose. The owners are great, and the energy of the place is wonderful. If you want to unwind, walk on the beach, sit by a warm fire, cook good food, hang out with friends and family, the Rose is “the spot!”"

"Here for a nice long weekend, to celebrate our 32nd anniversary. We were denied the usual glorious October weather, but what a great place to snuggle in and watch the rain slant against the windows, while watching the surf, and sipping a drink. Got in a few nice beach walks, even if we got a little wet. We dined out Saturday eve in Yachats (check out The Underground), and enjoyed our homemade chili the other 2 nights, in the cozy confines of the cottage. We just loved the feeling of living here for awhile, as if it were "our house"! "

"What comes to mind when I remember times at the SeaRose? I think of the peacefulness of the setting and from being unplugged from my phone and computer. I am reminded of being warmed by the crackling fire in the woodstove while the rain patters on the windows, and I remember the taste of popcorn and a beer while I enjoy watching a movie with friends. I review the view of the ocean and how I wake up feeling like a little kid in that tall, cozy bed. Besides those delights I like to remember all the good times I've spent there with friends and family - eating, talking, playing, snuggling, and just hanging out together. Thanks for a lovely, affordable vacation spot that feels like home but without that little voice telling me I should do something. I like it! "

Jan, Eugene, OR

"I have heard nothing but good about The Sea Rose. I am making reservations tomorrow for march. Myself and a friend hospice nurses need to get away and enjoy the peace and quiet. "

Judy, Eagle Point, OR

"Wow! Just came back home from staying 2 weeks at the SeaRose. This was a great place to relax and unplug. Watch the caveman t.v. on the woodburning stove and don't do much of anything but enjoy the sea view and the peace and quiet. Enjoy a stroll to the beach and find some agates. Thank you! "

Judy, Honolulu, Hawaii

"My husband and I spent a weekend at the Sea Rose (in January of all months!). We had a wonderful time - walking the beach, cooking in the great kitchen, and cozying up in front of the wood stove. It was a wonderfully comfortable weekend, and we can't wait to come back. Thank you for your hospitality! "

"My husband and I stayed at the SeaRose for our Anniversary and it was exactly what we were looking for. The view of the ocean was glorious, especially from the platform bed. After returning from a hike in Yachats, we warmed our feet by the stove while reading in complete quiet, except for gentle rain drops. We feasted, watched a movie, discovered a sweet beach on the other side of the bridge, sunned ourselves on the porch and left feeling renewed! We look forward to another visit! Thanks"

Lesley, Eugene, OR

"We have stayed at the Sea Rose a few times and always had a relaxing stay. The home is cozy. The open floor plan from the kitchen to the living and dining rooms makes socializing while cooking easy. The front and back decks are great for sunning all day. Sheltered. Great ocean views. Easy walk to the beach. "

Meg, Portland, OR

"My husband and I stayed at the SeaRose for 2 nights and had an absolutely Wonderful time. When they say you don't need to bring a thing except your linens, they truly do mean that! We of course packed like we were camping, and it wasn't until we walked thru the door that we looked at each other and realized we overpacked. :)The weather was in the high 70's both days, it was a nice break from the high stress of life to sit on the front porch and listen to the waves and the birds. I would 100% recommend the SeaRose to my friends and family and will be booking another trip over very soon. "

"We love the Sea Rose and can't wait for our next visit to the coast!!"

"My step-sister and her family introduced me to the SeaRose Guest House a few years ago and I have been back to visit with many of my close friends and family. It is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Thank you so much for all of your hard work and I hope to visit again soon! "

Naomi, Portland, OR

"The Sea Rose was a very comfy place to stay. It has a great porch, a great kitchen, a cozy wood stove and a quick walk to the beach. It could be a bit more kid-friendly (less tv, more outdoor stuff), but all in all, we loved the simpleness and mellowness of it all. thank you."

Shannon Boyd, Eugene, OR

"All of the amenities are there. In addition, one can find nettles and miners lettuce from the back "yard", surf perch from the beach, mussels and limpets, etc. from the rocks, agates when the banks (cliffs?) are eroding, Harlequin ducks at the mouth of the creek, elk that come mysteriously in the night and leave tracks and droppings everywhere snd browse the trail to the beach and we never see them...and mole crabs on the beach when the tide goes out and the surf perch love mole crabs. Nice place for drawing and painting. Cooking facilities very comfortable. Some of the best tide-pooling in the state is at nearby Strawberry Hill. "

Terry Gatchell, Cottage Grove, OR

"The SeaRose Guest House far exceeded all of our expectations, from its lush exterior botanical marvels and ocean views to its charming, fully accommodating interior. The owners have thought of everything. It fits us like a glove. Completely spontaneously and voluntarily, guest sometimes leave fun items like flowers or ice cream for future guests. Reminiscent of some youth hostels we've visited this custom seems to acknowledge people's satisfaction with the SeaRose and pass on the pleasure. It's one of many endearing aspects of the SeaRose."
